Carl Craig

general Comments Off on Carl Craig

This is the 2nd time I have seen Carl. Last time he played live Paperclip people style. This time he was just Dj’ing. I had a nice position upstairs and was quite happy sitting/dancing/standing on the balcony all night. He played some great tunes of jazz, techno, house etc. He played “classic” crowd favourites such as Jaguar, Strings of Life and his own mix of Good Life. I actually enjoyed the stuff I didn’t know more. Got a bit stuffy/smoky inside by the end so I went outside to prepare myself for flyering for Jack Your Body. Sorry if I was a bit stroppy during this period, I am TOO old to be giving out flyers at 4 o’clock in the morning! See photos here
BTW. Have you turned back your clocks? Daylight-savings ends here.

Norah Jones in concert

general Comments Off on Norah Jones in concert

Went to see Norah Jones at the Sydney Entertainment centre. It’s a shonky venue but when you’re in row 11 from the front on the dancefloor it doesn’t matter. Some may call her Snorah Jones but she was delightful and has beautiful voice live. I might even say better than the CD! Well, better than my MP3’s! She was very nice to the audience, thanking us for attending and trying to do the Aussie accent. I knew nearly all the songs except for a few “B” sides and “hippie” cover versions she did. The ausdience was very varied baseball caps to seniors…but mostly on the “old” side. Thanks Jamie for the ticket as b’day present.

I must see this. I love Andy Warhol. He was so cool. Melbourne, here I come! Last time I was in Melbourne, I almost missed my plane because of the quality time I wanted to spend at the Ian Potter Gallery.

My B’day BBQ

general Comments Off on My B’day BBQ

We finally got around to organising a get-together with friends at our house. The excuse of my birthday and Beta’s mini farewell worked. It was great to drag all the inner-city-ites out to the burbs. Friends that did live in the north-west zone didn’t have to travel far and could park right at the front! See photos here
