Bjork @ the Sydney Opera House

Bjork @ the Sydney Opera House

WOW - it was so freaking awesome! I was really looking forward to seeing Bjork again after 12 years back at the Hordern. I have been a big fan of her work since Debut and have paid cash money for all her releases since then. (Except the box set that came out about 6 years ago that I managed to get for free from my old work!). We decided to watch the concert from the “not really mosh pit”. Most of our friends decided to take a seat on the Opera House steps. There was hardly any pushing, shoving or throwing of missiles (that I had grown accustomed to recently), I even saw some guys crush their cans and put them in their bags (for recycling, I assume). Anyway, Bjork did a fantastic performance: her voice was awesome (just like the record), the back up musicians looked and sounded great in make up & costume too and the Reactable was cool. I loved it when Bjork made a big “spider web” come out of her hands! Near the end when it got really “rave-y” was great too! Unfortunately, the line for drinks was way too long so by the end of the night I was parched - the convenience store at East Circular Quay made a killing, charging us $10.45 for a Nestea and an ice block.

The SMH one is not very good
Zan from Triple J’s review is much better.
And boy do I feel sorry for those who were planning on seeing her at Big Day Out. I blame bogan fans of Rage Against the Machine>:P
Also incorporating Joanne’s B’day 2008 - She got the tickets for this show for us and is a wonderful woman to whom I will be eternally grateful!
