So after three years, I’ve finally updated the design of my blog. It’s just all too much effort to design it from scratch myself. I just took the easy option and downloaded a new theme. What do ya think?

I went home sick early and was waiting at the bus stop at Circular Quay the other day. There was an ad or short film being shot at the fruit stall near AMP building. It was quite odd with a series of people walking around holding giant (like a metre long) packets of gum. I thought what a great job being an extra would be. Something different everyday, nice catering but sometimes odd hours. There was also this old chinese guy (not part of the shoot I assume) who seemed to be masticating McDonalds french fries and then giving it to the pigeons… eww, then he got on my bus!

Yes, I’ve been slack… been doing so much and blogging so little. Here are a few recent events and opinions.

Saw Ridge Forrestor (Ron Moss) from the B&theB at Circular Quay

My osteopath looks like a Chinese Ridge Forrestor. He says I have BAD posture, but hey it’s not my fault I sit in front of a computer 8 hours a day mac monkeying.

I’m really into Marvin Gaye at the moment.

and that’s all for now

Here’s the month of June so far:
• Moved house – Waterloo is so hot right now (see Wallpaper Navigator magazine 2005)
• Went to the final Frigid aka Frigid’s 10th birthday. See my photos from the big night here.
• Sydney Film Festival to see ABDUCTION THE MEGUMI YOKOTA STORY . This is a documentary that made me cry – alot. I always cry in any movie but this true story was particularily sad, just when I thought things couldn’t get worse something else would happen. The description by the mother about the afternoon her daughter went missing made me feel so bad about the time I went out with my boyfriend after school and didn’t call my mum. I never realised how worried she would have been when I didn’t come home from school. I did try to call once, but the public phone I used was faulty and I ran out of change. This was before mobile phones ok. Anyway, the directors of the documentary did a Q & A afterwards which was quite informative. They were inspired to do the doco after seeing a report about the situation on the news.
• The Vice Party @ Spectrum, QBar & 34B – it wasn’t as good as last years’ party but I got to see Spankrock and Thommy DJ’d some fine tunes in the 34B area while some scantily clad women danced around a pole. I hadn’t been in QBar since 1997 – that’s a good thing right?

paw paw
My dear grandma (my mum’s mum) Gee Yee Yuen, otherwise known in Chinese as “Paw Paw” passed away on May 16th. She was 90 years old, had 6 children, 6 grandchildren and a big house in Parramatta. Also a lover of “Dirty Harry”, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Parramatta Eels and pumpkin. I’m really going to miss her :(

Dave and I have been invited to dj at this party!! The theme is kind of retro futuristic in a 70s way – so the tunes will be pretty out there :) It’s being held at the good ol Hollywood in Surry Hills. C’mon down!

No Lifeguard on Duty – The Accidental Life of the World’s first Supermodel
About the 70′s/80′s “super” model Janice Dickinson
I love reading biographies especially ones from the entertainment/fashion/celebrity industry. The book starts with a lot of the “c” word, “f” word and excess consumption of drugs and alcohol. A juicy read for those long train trips from Epping to the City and back.
Also reading/browsing…
Where You’re At by Patrick Neate – an insightful investigation into what hip-hop culture means/represents in different cultures (eg New York, Tokyo, Jo’burg etc)
The Hit Factory – The Stock Aitken Waterman Story
Love Your Home – Habitat (the Terence Conran “designer homeware” store)
Sydney Style (Taschen) – Exteriors, Interiors & Details of really “noice” Sydney homes.
Hey I don’t pay for this stuff, I borrow it from the City of Sydney library.

On Sunday night, I was at a petrol station when a car drove really quickly right behind me. I thought damn they are going a bit fast – they could have hit me! Then a guy came running out the shop shouting, “Stop, stop!”. I thought that they had stolen petrol, but it turned out that the guy shouting had just had his car stolen. So, don’t leave your keys in the ignition when buying petrol. Okies.
